Ratings Scale

A lot of you ask how the rating scale works. I’m going to break it down for you.

If I’m being honest, I only review what I even moderately enjoy. You will never see anything under a 6.0 on this page, EVER. Below I will post the generic scheme I base it off of.

6 – 7.5 – Not something I would generally add to a playlist or seek out on my own, unless for review purposes.

7.6 – 7.9 – As small of a jump as that is, this score is giving to something that just barley falls short of making my “list”. I generally base my scores off of a “how many songs would make my favorites playlist?” or “How many songs make me go crazy?”. When I give a 7.6 – 7.9 its because the album just slightly fell short. An album that starts hot and ends slow would get a 7.6. An album that is solid all the way through but doesnt have me screaming for more would land at a 7.8 or 7.9. 7.9 is a minor critic that just made it miss my “favorites” criteria.

8-8.9 – Is just outside of my “OH F^&k YA” list. These are albums I generally recommend people or an album that is so clearly well done.  It’s gotta be a solid record to make it this far. Some songs or majority of the record would make my regular playlist.

9-10 – Is pretty self explanatory. near perfect or perfect albums.
